Caramelised Onions


Main ingredients: Onions thinly sliced, red wine, sugar, olive oil

Equipment: Small frying pan
Matt says: "So easy. Perfect for topping bean burgers or on pizza. Cook slowly on a low heat, you don't want to burn them."

Ingredients:

  • 1 large onion thinly sliced
  • Red wine
  • Sugar
  • Olive oil

Method:

Thinly slice the onion

Heat a frying pan with olive oil

Put in onion slices and cook on low heat for 5 mins.

Add a splash of red wine and tablespoon of sugar

Cook on very low heat for 15-20 mins until onions are caramelised

Serve on pizza or burgers
